About the tests:
The Praxis Series is a testing program designed to provide tests and other services to states for use in their teacher certification process. Some colleges and universities also use the test as an entry exam for teacher education programs. The Praxis Series consists of the Praxis I: Academic Skills Assessments and Praxis II Subject Assessments.
The Praxis I test measures reading, writing and mathematics skills. Truman State University only administers the CBT version of the exam.
For information about Praxis I testing dates click here.
To register for the Praxis I or II you must register online at www.ets.org/praxis.
You must register for a Praxis exam no later than three full days prior to the testing date.
The Praxis II subject tests measure knowledge of specific subjects that K-12 educators will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge. They are usually taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the teacher licensing and certification process required by many states.
The following Praxis II exams are now available in a computer-based testing format:

Which test should I take? It is the responsibility of the test taker to find out which tests are required by the agency or state in which they are seeking licensure. The test taker may wish to check with that particular state or agency, or visit The Praxis Series Web site.
