Need additional credit? Have you considered CLEP testing? There is a three-month wait period for attempts that do not pass, so students needing a CLEP to fulfill requirements should make their first attempt at least 4 months prior to graduation.
The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) gives students the opportunity to receive college credit by earning qualifying scores.

How to schedule a CLEP test:
CLEP exams are given on an individual basis between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, as schedules permit. An appointment is required. All CLEP exams consist of 90 minutes of testing time. Candidates should allow approximately 15-20 minutes before the test for check-in and tutorial time. Call the Assessment and Testing office at 785-4140 to schedule your CLEP test.
How to Register and Pay for a CLEP test:
The $95 CLEP testing fee must be paid prior to your exam via CLEP website by clicking here. After creating an account, you will have the ability to select and pay for your exam. IMPORTANT: A testing appointment must still be scheduled with the testing office by calling 660-785-4140 or coming into VH 1130 between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Print out the registration ticket and bring it to your scheduled appointment.
Administration Fee:
A $15 non-refundable administration fee is collected by the testing site and must be paid either by cash or check on the day of your exam. If you wish to pay the administration fee early via credit or debit card, click here.
ID Policy
Acceptable forms of identification include:
- Government-issued passport with name, photograph, and signature
- Driver’s license with name, photograph, and signature
- State or Province ID issued by the motor vehicle agency with name, photograph, and signature
- Military ID with name, photograph, and signature (including electronic signatures)
- National ID with name, photograph, and signature
- Tribal ID card with name, photograph, and signature
- A naturalization card or certificate of citizenship with name, photograph, and signature
- A Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) with name, photograph, and signature
- College Board Student ID Form – this requires a notary and extra work on your part (not recommended)
If you do not present an ID from the list above, you will be turned away. The name on your ID must match the name on your registration ticket.
Unacceptable forms of identification include (but are not limited to):
- Credit or debit cards of any kind
- Social Security card
- Employee or Work ID
- School ID
- Any document that is photocopied (including pictures on phones) or expired
- Any document that doesn’t bear a recent recognizable photograph that clearly matches the test taker
- Any document that doesn’t bear the test taker’s name in roman English characters exactly as it appears on the Registration Ticket
- Any document that is worn, torn, scuffed, scarred, or otherwise damaged in such a manner that it renders any part of the text on the ID card illegible or renders any part of the photograph unrecognizable
- Any document that appears tampered with or altered
